about this project
As the sole developer (personal project) and project manager of ByeByeAddiction, an Android app available in the store to support recovery from substance and behavioral issues, I created a user-centric platform featuring meditations, texts, and videos produced in Veed. Leveraging my Technical Computer Science expertise, I developed the app using FlutterFlow with custom Flutter code, integrating features like webview, timers, and sharing capabilities. The app, now live, has a roadmap for additional features like a diary, more meditations, videos and launch in the iOS Store.
My Responsibilities
- App Conceptualization: Designed the app’s vision to deliver accessible recovery resources, including meditations, texts, and videos tailored for addiction recovery following the 12 step Minnesota model.
- Development: Built the Android app using FlutterFlow and custom Flutter code, with a Google Cloud Bucket for document storage to keep the app lightweight and local storage for privacy.
- Feature Implementation: Integrated webview for dynamic page loading (meeting finder0, timers for recovery and achievment unlocking, achievement tracking, and a share functionality for assignments (e.g., via WhatsApp or printing), with anonymous access via app ID.
- Monetization & Analytics: Implemented Admob for monetization, a RevenueCat paywall for premium content, and Android Console for user analytics to drive engagement.
- Content & Design:
Produced engaging video content hosted on YouTube to minimize app size and designed intuitive UI/UX using Canva and FlutterFlow’s styling tools.
Technologies & Tools Used
- Development: Utilized FlutterFlow and custom Flutter code for app development, Google Cloud Bucket for document storage, and YouTube for video hosting.
- Monetization & Analytics: Integrated Admob, RevenueCat, and Android Console for monetization and user insights.
- Design & Content: Employed Canva for UI styling and Veed for video production.

Impact
ByeByeAddiction introduces a groundbreaking approach to recovery by addressing both substance and behavioral addictions, recognizing that 80% of addiction is behavioral and treating all forms as interconnected. My solo efforts in development, design, and monetization, grounded in my technical education, delivered a lightweight, scalable Android app that empowers users with accessible, motivational content. With a roadmap for features like a recovery diary and expanded meditations, the app is set to redefine addiction recovery and drive sustained user impact.
